Like most of the country has been doing lately, the KSHSAA has been making a turn to the right with changes involving the coaches and their students; however, more can be done, especially outside of coaching. Tonya Cox, head coach of the cheerleaders at Neodesha High School called the KSHSAA as to why they cannot attend national competitions. Victor Sisk, the assistant Executive Director, explained the rule and commented that cheer companies such as UCA (Universal Cheerleading Association, owned by Riddell Sports), NCA (National Cheerleading Assn., one of the oldest cheerleading associations), etc. EXPLOIT Kansas high school cheerleaders, while acknowledging their expertise in the summer camp field by contracting with them to operate the KSHSAA-sponsored cheer camps. If they exploit, like Mr. Sisk suggests, are they credible? If they are credible, then why does the rules exists. This section needs a good thorough once-over
