The goof regarding junction sign for US 59 on K-68 in Ottawa is the fact that the sign should have been removed when US 59 was relocated from Main Street to the new freeway. The road work sign is for a mill/overlay of Main Street.

The Section of the US 59 Freeway in Franklin Couty is now named in honor of former Kansas Republican Party Chair and telephone Company executive Vern Chesbro. Mr. Chesbro passed away in January of 2010, and legislation naming the highway in his honor was signed into law in April.
