Kansas Highways Notes

Notes:

• The highways signs are based on designs from United States and Canada Highway Signs by James Lin (Kansas, 'narrow shield' US [I created US-56 above for him], 'three-digit shield' US, and Interstate) and The Manual of traffic signs by Richard C. Moeur (US-66 and 'wide shield' US 73 and 81)
• Most of the distances are estimated, using the KDOT map (which also is the source for the region names) or the good old 1997 or 1998 Rand McNally :)
• Unless otherwise stated, the roads are the way you would expect (Odd numbers N-S, even numbers E-W)
• The highlighted cities take you to K-state's Huck Boyd institute for Rural Development's 'Kansas Profile'.  Connecting links to other state highways is also provided in the notes
